Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Congress suffered a major setback in Maharashtra. Baba Siddiqui’s son and Bandra East MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui quit the Congress. He joined Ajit Pawar’s NCP. Zeeshan joined the NCP in the presence of Ajit Pawar and Sunil Tatkare. The NCP has declared Zeeshan Siddiqui as its Bandra East Assembly candidate.
Zeeshan Siddiqui is currently the Congress MLA from Bandra East seat. Just this morning, Zeeshan has joined the NCP (Ajit Pawar). He has taken this step just 13 days after the murder of his father Baba Siddiqui. Zeeshan was removed by the Congress because his father, Baba Siddiqui, had joined Ajit Pawar’s NCP. But Zeeshan wanted to be the party’s MLA and remained in the party.

Zeeshan mocked Congress
Probing Congress, Zeeshan said he heard that old friends have declared their candidate in Bandra East. It was never in their nature to get along. Now the public will make the decision!

It is in the nature of Congress to cheat- Zeeshan Siddiqui
After Ajit joined the NCP, Zeeshan said that Mahavikas Aghadi declared his candidacy but gave up his seat to Shiv Sena (UBT), which is very unfortunate. Over the last few days, some Congress leaders and Aghadi Mahavikas were in touch with me. Some said they would do it unopposed, others said it should wait, but it is in their (Congress’) nature to cheat.
I thank Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare and the NCP party for the trust they have shown in me during this difficult time. My father’s unfulfilled dream was that we have to win this seat, we have to fight for the rights of the people. He was killed while fighting this battle and his blood is in my veins and I will continue to fight his battle in the future as well. We will win the Bandra East seat with a record vote.
