The bodies of both were found in the canal, the police launched an investigation.
Bathinda Crime News (Aaj Samaj), Bathinda: The couple, who married for love some time ago and dreamed of a golden and happy life, would not have imagined that their lives would end very soon. In fact, on Tuesday, Bathinda police received information about the dead bodies of a man and a woman near Joganand bridge on Sirhind canal. When the police arrived at the scene and removed both bodies with the help of divers, they found them tied together. The deceased have been identified as Gurpreet Singh (36) and Neha (18), residents of Adarsh Nagar, Bathinda. They both had a love marriage a few days ago. Police recovered a motorcycle and a bag of deceased Gurpreet Singh from the spot. Both had mobile phones and Aadhar cards in their bags.
Bicycle found two kilometers away
The police removed the bodies from the canal and sent them for autopsy. Later, when the matter was investigated, the motorcycle of deceased Gurpreet Singh was found two kilometers from where the bodies were found. The mobile phones and Aadhar cards of both were recovered from the hanging bag, making it easier for the police to identify both of them. The police have not found any suicide note at the scene to find out why the two took such a terrible step. The police are currently trying to gather information about the actions taken by the two by questioning their relatives and other known people.
