Big news has emerged from Bhadohi district in Uttar Pradesh. Here, during the investigation of the fraud case of obtaining a gold loan by promising fake jewelery in a bank, two more cases from different banks came to light. Police said fake jewelery was kept as mortgage for gold loans from three banks and loans worth over Rs 33 lakh were given to customers as part of a conspiracy. A case has been registered against Raju Seth, owner of Bhavana Ornaments, a bank-appointed gold testing company, and 12 other clients for causing huge losses to the banks.

Superintendent of Police Meenakshi Katyayan on Thursday said that based on the complaint of Rajan Sandewar, manager of Gopiganj branch of Union Bank of India in Gopiganj police station area, sections 419, 420 have been registered v. Raju Seth and Pradeep Kumar, Dinesh Chandra. Dheeraj Kumar, Akhilesh Kumar A case under sections 409 and 120 B was registered on Wednesday evening. He said that with the approval of Raju Seth, a total gold loan of Rs 11,74,422 was given to these four persons between on April 1 and May 31.

Gold loan of Rs 13,50,687 between April 5 and May 9.

The superintendent of police said that early on Tuesday, following the complaint of Union Bank of India Gyanpur branch manager Furkan Ali Khan, sections 419, 420 of the Indian Penal Code were registered against Raju Seth and the moneylenders Aarti Devi, Ajay Kumar, Rajneesh and Zubaid Alam a case was registered at Gyanpur police station under sections 406 and 120B. He said that during the tenure of earlier appointed Branch Manager Gulab Singh between April 5, 2024 and May 9, 2024, with the approval of Raju Seth, the bank gave a total gold loan of Rs 13,50,687 Aarti Devi, Ajay, Rajneesh and Zubaid were gone.

All the jewelery kept as a mortgage in the bank was found to be fake.

He said that on September 27, 2024, upon re-examination of the gold jewelery held as mortgage of AU Ornaments Pvt. Ltd. located at Phulpur, Prayagraj, it was found that all the jewelery held as mortgage in the bank were fake. Katyayan said a similar case of fraud came to light in the Gopiganj branch of another bank, the Central Bank of India. This bank also gave a total gold loan of Rs 8,05,256 to Ram Singh, Manoj Kumar, Vinod Kumar and Nirmala Devi with the approval of Raju Seth.

The three banks lost Rs 33,30,365 in fraud

In this regard, the regional director of the Central Bank of India, Durgesh N. Singh filed a complaint and said that the jewelery kept as mortgage in the bank was examined at the bank’s head office and all the jewelery was found to be fake. In this sense, a case was opened against the five accused on Wednesday. Meenakshi Katyayan said that the three banks had appointed M/s Bhavana Ornaments to examine the gold jewellery. Three banks have suffered a loss of Rs 33,30,365 in this fraud. (Language)
