YouTube WhatsApp Scam

Many cases of fraud have come to light through popular platforms such as YouTube and WhatsApp. Recently, there has been an incident of fraud worth thousands of rupees in the name of liking YouTube videos. Hackers have committed this fraud in the name of a part-time job that offers earnings in exchange for liking videos on social media platforms. According to the report, hackers defrauded a bookseller of over Rs 56 lakh in the hope of making easy money.

This is how the fraud occurred

According to the report, the hackers first gave the bookseller easy tasks to earn a part-time job, upon completion of which they paid him Rs 123 and Rs 492. The victim merchant was fooled by this easily obtained money, after which the scammer committed a huge fraud with him. The merchant was tasked with subscribing to a YouTube channel and sending a screenshot. In exchange he promised to pay him.

After initially receiving two payments, the victim trader was added to a Telegram group, where he was asked to deposit the money in exchange for a higher commission. The trader was fooled by the hackers and invested Rs 56.7 lakh. After giving initial benefits in the name of returns, the hackers ended contact with him. After this, the victim merchant realized the fraud that had happened to him.

avoid like this

  1. To avoid this type of fraud, you should keep in mind that all claims of easy earnings are empty. If someone makes such promises to you, you should not get trapped in them.
  2. Simple tasks like giving money in exchange for liking videos or posts on social media can be fraud. In such a situation, you should ignore these claims and not get trapped in greed.
  3. Avoid joining unknown groups on apps like WhatsApp and Telegram. Today, cybercriminals steal from people by using social engineering.
  4. First thoroughly research companies that claim part-time jobs, online jobs, and short-term investments. Proceed only after doing complete research on the matter.
  5. If you have any questions, seek advice from friends and family, as well as cyber experts.
  6. Don’t share your personal information, OTP, password, etc. with anyone at any cost.
  7. Ignore any messages, emails, etc. in which promises are made such as gifts, part-time work or double income.
