The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday released the third list of candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Stamped on this list are the names of candidates for 25 assembly seats. Along with this, the party has also announced its candidate for the Nanded Lok Sabha by-election. The party has fielded Dr Santuk Marotrao Hambarde for the Lok Sabha by-election.
There will be a fight with this congressional candidate in the by-elections.
Congress candidate Vasantrao Balwant Rao Chavan won from the Nanded seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. But after his death the seat fell vacant. In such a situation, the Lok Sabha by-elections will be held in Nanded on November 20 along with the Maharashtra Assembly elections. For this, the Congress had announced the candidate on October 17. The Congress has given ticket to Ravindra Vasantrao Chavan, son of late MP Vasantrao Chavan. While BJP has fielded Dr. Santuk Marotrao Hambarde against Ravindra Chavan.
BJP fielded so many candidates
So far, the BJP has released three lists of candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. In total, the party has so far given tickets to 146 candidates, including the names of 99 candidates from the first list, 22 candidates from the second list and 25 candidates from the third list. In such a situation, out of the 288 assembly seats, Mahayuti has announced candidates for a total of 256 seats.
