Mother Annapurna’s treasure open to devotees

The Maa Annapurna temple located near the Srikashi Vishwanath temple of Varanasi becomes a special center of attraction for the devotees on the day of Dhanteras. According to the Mahant of the temple, Pandit Shankarpuri, from Dhanteras to Annakoot, there is a golden darshan of Mother Annapurna. During this time, the temple distributes 16 quintals of lava to devotees in the form of gold and silver coins, gems, one or two rupee coins and grains. It is believed that by keeping the money and grains given by Mother Annapurna in the house, there is never any shortage of money and grains.

Gold and silver coins will be distributed among the devotees.

There is also a mythological story behind the tradition of golden darshan of Mother Annapurna. Under the rule of King Divodas of Kashi, the entry of any deity was prohibited. In such a situation, Mother Annapurna destroyed the king’s pride by bringing famine to Kashi. King Divodas prayed to Mother Annapurna to end the famine, and the mother was pleased and appeared until Diwali. Mahant Shankarpuri said that around 8 lakh coins will be distributed this time.
