New Delhi: The effects of cyclonic storm ‘Dana’ have started becoming visible in Odisha and West Bengal. In many places it rains with strong winds. The cyclone has also affected rail and air services. Due to this, more than 300 trains had to be cancelled. These also include around 200 local trains. The trains that had to be canceled mainly include Howrah-Secunderabad Express, Shalimar-Puri Super Fast Express, New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Express, Howrah-Bhubaneswar Express, Howrah-Puri Super Fast Express.

These trains will also remain canceled

According to Railways, many trains will remain canceled until October 25. According to South Eastern Railway, Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express, Kamakhya-Yesvantpur AC Express, Howrah-Bhubaneswar Shatabdi Express, Howrah-Puri Shatabdi Express and Howrah-Yesvantpur Express trains have also been cancelled.

Many local trains also canceled

In view of Cyclonic Storm Dana, Eastern Railway will not operate 190 local trains on its Sealdah division from 8pm on Thursday to 10am on Friday. The Eastern Railway (ER) official said no local trains will run from Sealdah station from 8 pm on October 24 to ensure that no train leaves the station during the period when the cyclone is expected to make landfall.

List of canceled trains

The canceled trains include 13 Up and 11 Dn trains on Sealdah-Canning section, 15 Up and 10 Dn trains on Sealdah-Laxmikantpur section, 15 Up and 14 Dn trains on Sealdah-Budge Budge section, 15 Up and 15 Dn trains in Sealdah-Diamond Port section and 15 Dn trains, seven up and nine commuter trains in the Sealdah-Baruipur section and 11 up and nine down in the Sealdah-Barasat/Hasnabad section.

Biju Patnaik Airport closed

At the same time, due to Cyclonic Storm Dana, flight services at Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport will remain closed for 16 hours from Thursday night. The airport will be completely closed from 5 p.m. on October 24 to 9 a.m. on October 25. Authorities said that more than 100 flights are operated daily at the Bhubaneswar airport, carrying around 15,000 people.
