Cyclone Dana: The widespread impact of the landfall of cyclonic storm ‘Dana’ is being seen. It rains with strong stormy winds in Odisha and West Bengal. In Odisha, due to storm Dana, trees and electric poles have fallen on roads in many areas. Houses in many residential areas were also damaged. Roads have been blocked due to falling trees in coastal villages of Dhamra area in Bhadrak, Odisha. A full damage assessment can only be done after the storm’s impact subsides.

An Odisha fire services official said roads were blocked due to uprooting of many trees. We will first clear NH and other roads and then move towards residential areas. Both our teams are working on Dhamra. So far we have no information about serious damage.

Storm Dana is moving northwest at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour. It is raining with strong winds in the affected areas. There are high waves rising in the sea. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi briefed Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah about the state government’s preparations.
Speed weakened after landfall
However, in the meantime, as the storm moves forward after making landfall, its speed is weakening. The Meteorological Department is continuously monitoring the speed and direction of this storm. Let us tell you that a total of about 6 lakh people in Odisha have been shifted from dangerous places to safe places. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said these people have been kept in more than 6,000 shelter homes. Food, water, medicine and other essential items are provided at the shelter home.
