Air quality in Delhi is in the ‘very poor’ category

The weather in the capital Delhi is getting worse day by day and people are finding it difficult to breathe. Meanwhile, after two days of relief, on Sunday, October 27, air quality once again reached the very poor category. Because air quality has decreased due to slowing winds that reduce pollution.

If we look at the latest data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 355 at 4 pm, while on Saturday was 255. CPCB has released data from 37 of 40 monitoring centers in the city. According to this, the air quality was very serious in three centres, Bawana, Burari and Jahangirpuri. Apart from this, the air quality has also been recorded as very poor in cities adjacent to Delhi, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Noida and poor in Faridabad and Gurugram. Which is a cause of problems for people. People’s health is affected due to the continuous deterioration of the ICA.

ICA Categories

As per the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), emergency air quality measures have been divided into four phases to control air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region during the winter season. In which the first AQI is considered bad when it is 201 to 300, the second AQI is considered very bad when it is 301 to 400, the third stage is considered serious when the AQI is 401 to 450 and the fourth stage is considered severe when the AQI is 401 to 450. is above 450.

Wind speed recorded at zero kilometers per hour

According to the India Meteorological Department i.e. IMD, the wind speed in Delhi was recorded at zero kilometers per hour. In the last two days, the air quality in Delhi had improved from very poor to poor due to favorable wind speed, but on Sunday it again reached the very poor category. According to CPCB, the major pollutants in Delhi on Sunday were PM 10 and PM 2.5. According to the data, the level of PM 2.5 was recorded at 5 pm on Sunday at 110.6 micrograms per cubic meter. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky could remain clear in the city on Monday, October 28. The minimum and maximum temperatures on Monday are expected to be around 20 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius respectively.
