Do Patti Review: ‘Do Patti’ gives goosebumps, Kajol goes pale, Kriti-Shaheer wins hearts – Do Patti Review kajol and kriti Sanon fight domestic abuse in suspense drama shaheer sheikh outshines tmovp

When the trailer of Kajol and Kriti Sanon starrer film ‘Do Patti’ was released, the question on viewers’ minds was what this film will be about. The suspenseful story of two twin sisters, a police inspector and a handsome Shaheer Sheikh was created together, and fans are tempted to watch. This question was also running through my head when I saw the trailer for ‘Do Patti’. Watching the trailer, it seemed like this story would be about two sisters and a cute boy who comes between them. It is, but things are more complicated than they seem.

What is the story of the movie?

The story begins in the small town Devipur of Jharkhand, where inspector Vidya Jyoti (Kajol) has been transferred. Vidya alias VJ, daughter of a judge father and a lawyer mother, weighs justice and law on a different scale than common people. In addition to being a police officer by profession, she is also a lawyer. After graduating in law, he didn’t even leave his own brother. For his mistake he was also sent to prison. One night, after taking the report of a fight at the police station seriously, VJ finds herself involved in a dilemma that will ruin her days and her sleepless nights.

VJ, who has come to find out the person who complained, meets Saumya (Kriti Sanon) and her mother (Tanvi Azmi). The wounds on Soumya’s face show that someone hit her, but she says the cabinet hurt her. Worried about Saumya, VJ starts following her, which is why he meets Saumya’s twin sister Shelly (Kriti Sanon).

Soumya’s naive sister’s style is completely different from hers: spoiled and careless. VJ finds out from his mother that both his sisters had fallen in love with Dhruv, an angry boy from a rich family. Dhruv, son of a Haryana minister, has no control over his pants and his anger. After switching between the two sisters, Dhruv chooses Soumya as his wife. In love, Soumya gets married happily, but then the same thing happens to her that happened to her mother at some point.

Saumya has to face Dhruv’s wrath every day for every small or big mistake, or for no particular reason. His sister Shaili considers him a drama queen and Dhruv apologizes to her after flirting with her like the classic abusive husband. Yes, ‘Do Patti’, which seems full of romance and suspense, actually shows the pain of domestic violence.

The limit is reached when Dhruv takes Soumya’s life one night. Vidya Jyoti then takes matters into her own hands and fights as a lawyer in Soumya’s case against Dhruv. But one thing VJ doesn’t know is that the whole truth isn’t even before his eyes. What is the secret of the lives of both twin sisters? In the film you will get to see if Saumya, who was beaten by Dhruv, will ever get justice and how badly this affects the body and mind of a woman facing domestic violence.

Shaheer is better than Kajol-Kriti

Talking about acting, Kajol’s work in the film is decent. He has tried hard to become a local police officer, but hasn’t quite succeeded. Kriti Sanon appears in a double role for the first time through ‘Do Patti’. He has proven with his role that his future is bright in the industry. You get to see two versions of Kriti together in the form of Shaili and Saumya and then you understand how far she has come in her craft. However, one actor who completely wins your heart and makes you ignore Kajol and Kriti Sanon is Shaheer Sheikh.

You all must have seen Shaheer Sheikh on TV before. He has been seen in different roles like Chocolate Boy Rohan from ‘Best of Luck Nikki’, Arjun from ‘Mahabharat’ and Anant from ‘Navya’. But one would hardly have thought that Shaheer would appear on screen playing the role of an angry and abusive husband. Shaheer’s work in the role of Dhruv is amazing. His romance with Kriti and his pampered style are also worth watching. Shaheer Sheikh shines in every scene.

Missing? What’s special about it?

There is one of the most painful scenes in the film, where after a conversation between Saumya and Dhruv, you can see Dhruv’s true face. The way it was filmed and the kind of acting given by both stars is really creepy. That’s the moment that doesn’t leave you even after the movie ends and keeps running around in your mind.

The story of the film has been written by Kanika Dhillon. The problem with Kanika’s stories is that they are very predictable. The story of ‘Do Patti’ is also similar. By looking at the image you can understand what is going to happen or what can happen next. There are many shortcomings in the film’s direction. Many scenes seem quite artificial. An attempt has been made to show a courtroom drama here, which is quite disappointing. That whole sequence fails to involve you. The music of the film is good.
