On the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, Pope Francis has said that we must not forget the poor.

He wrote in his post X on October 17: “Let us not forget the poor. “Let us dream of a world in which water, bread, work, medicine, land and home are available to everyone.”
In his second post he recalled that true wealth comes from encountering Jesus and people in need. He wrote: “True wealth is found in our encounter with God and with people, especially the most vulnerable, who are “abandoned” by the false culture of the good life. “As long as together we can create a world in which the dignity of every person is fully recognized and respected.”
