A criminal who narrated the story was caught in a police encounter last night in UP capital Lucknow. This encounter occurred near Bhitauli intersection when the police tried to stop the bikers. But they opened fire on the police team. In retaliation, a criminal was shot in the leg. However, his companion managed to escape.
According to the news agency, a criminal against whom more than two dozen cases have been registered was arrested near Bhitauli junction after an encounter on Tuesday night. The name of the captured criminal is Kamlesh Tiwari.
In the case, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Jitendra Kumar Dubey said a police team spotted two suspicious persons roaming around on a two-wheeler (scooty) in Jankipuram police station area. When they tried to stop them, both opened fire on the police team. Kamlesh Tiwari was shot in the left leg in response to police firing in self-defence. During this time, the second person present with Kamlesh managed to escape and efforts are on to nab him.
Lucknow additional deputy commissioner of police (north) said a country-made pistol, loading cartridges and a two-wheeler recovered from the possession of Kamlesh Tiwari were seized. He has been taken to the hospital injured. The situation is out of danger.
Police said Kamlesh had stolen a chain from a woman a day before the encounter. At the same time, the police also expressed fear that these miscreants might commit any incident again, but before that they had an encounter with the police.
