Farmers sensitized about crop residue management

SDM Rajesh Kumar addressing villagers at a village in Ellenabad.

(Sirsa News) Ellenabad. Local SDM Rajesh Kumar visited several villages of the subdivision on Wednesday and informed the villagers about not burning stubble. Addressing the villagers of various villages on this occasion, SDM said that farmers should not burn stubble but manage it and convert it into a source of income. The state government provides stubble management equipment through subsidy.

In addition, a subsidy of one thousand rupees per acre is given. Therefore, farmers should be aware and not burn stubble. He said that burning rice straw, on the one hand, pollutes the environment and has a negative impact on the climate, but on the other hand, it also has a very negative effect on the health of human life. Appealing to farmers, he said they should manage waste by making straw bales with the help of balers so that our environment remains safe.
