  • Instead of blaming farmers for pollution, government should take proper measures for stubble management: Vishnudatt

(Fatehabad News) Fatehabad. Farmers today staged a dharna at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on the call of All India Kisan Sabha, demanding to register a case against farmers for stubble burning and arresting them, against looting of crops in mandis and to eliminate shortage of DAP. The striking farmers expressed their anger by raising slogans against the state government. Kisan Sabha district chief Vishnudutt Sharma presided over the protest.

After the protest, the protesting farmers reached the deputy commissioner’s office and submitted the demand letter to the DC on behalf of the Chief Minister. The Kisan Sabha delegation said the DC assured them that they would not file cases in the stubble case and said the administration will try to convince the farmers. He assured that appropriate arrangements will be made regarding DAP fertilizer. Addressing the protest, Kisan Sabha district president Vishnudutt Sharma said that the entire blame for pollution during the rice season lies with the farmers.

Instead of taking action, cases are being filed against farmers across the state and red entries are being made on the portal.

The agriculture department, administration and other agencies work as if the pollution comes from the farmer’s own field. Instead of taking short and long term measures that the government should have taken for proper stubble management, red entries are being made on the portal by filing cases against farmers across the state. This action against farmers is against the agreement reached by the Central Government on December 9, 2021, which clearly states that in the case of stubble, farmers will be exempted from criminal liability under Articles 14 and 15 of the Government of India Act. .
Raising the issue of DAP crisis, he said the availability of DAP is very less compared to the area sown of Rabi season crops across the state.

Farmers have to stand in long queues to receive DAP. He said that procurement and harvesting of crops is not done efficiently due to which farmers are facing many problems. The memorandum sent to the CM demands that the cases filed against the farmers in the name of stubble be dismissed. There should be adequate provisions for the management of stubble and the costs incurred in its management should be compensated. To address the problems related to environmental pollution, the government should come up with a concrete plan that includes all the affected people and stop blaming farmers every year. The government should increase the supply of DAP fertilizer and the fertilizer should be made available through rural societies. Stock boards should be installed in all sales centers and forced sale of Nano DAP, seeds, medicines etc. should be strictly stopped. along with DAP.

Procurement of groundnuts at the MSP should begin on November 1. The sale of counterfeit fertilizers, seeds and medicines must be banned and the procurement and acquisition of all crops must be accelerated. On this occasion Subhash Bhadu, Hon.
