(Charkhi dadari news) Badhra. Girls Gurukul and College Panchgaon, established in slave India at the southern tip of Haryana, are still dedicated to protecting and propagating the ancient Indian civilization, culture and politics of the Arya Samaj. This Gurukul, which has the distinction of being the only free girls’ college in eight districts, started with a simple hut before independence. Today, this institution has become hundreds of classrooms and provides education to about three hundred girls. The highly educated girls here are dedicated to propagating the teachings of Arya Samaj in every corner of the country and state. There is an atmosphere of excitement among the Aryaveers regarding their annual festival program on October 26 and 27.

Located near Panchgaon on the Jui-Badhra main road, this Gurukul was founded in 1947 by the famous freedom fighter Mahashay Mansharam. He also donated about 70 bighas of his land free of cost. At that time there was no large educational institution in this area and women’s education was viewed with contempt. This Gurukul, built in slaveholding India, faced many difficulties in its initial phase and was closed in 1956. But it was restarted after twenty years on February 28, 1977. This Gurukul and College, which was started simply from a hut , today advances along the path of development. Initially, the Vice Chancellor of this Gurukul was Hon’ble Nanak Chand, but after his death, former CM BD Gupta, Vice Chancellor Swami Dharmanand Orissa and Sunita Gupta, wife of Seth Jaswant Singh, have taken up the work of Vice Chancellor and later of his death, now Swami Dharmanand Saraswati takes care of the work of the Vice Chancellor. Work is going well.

Instead of relying on government aid, Kanya Gurukul is running with the help of local donors. For their work, the founders of Gurukul constituted an executive board in which the famous Arya Samaji Mahipal Jevali was elected as the patron, former Sarpanch of Panchgaon Omprakash was elected as the president, former NP president Vijay Panchgawan Gaushala as the chairman of the Committee, Buddev Arya as the General Secretary, Harisingh Gopi, was elected Gaushala Secretary. Right from appointing teachers for teaching work at Gurukul to collecting food for girl students, all the work is done by members of the Gurukul Executive. At present, around three hundred girls are educated in this Gurukul. In this Gurukul, affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak and Board of Education, Bhiwani, only 5th and 10th grade passed students pursuing higher education up to Shastri in three languages - Hindi, English and Sanskrit are admitted. Apart from Haryana, girls from Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal come to study here.

Gurukul and College Panchgaon girls receive only a few rupees as subsidy in the name of government assistance throughout the year. There is a large cow shed and yagyashala at Gurukul. Better quality cows from other states are raised in Gaushala, which give more milk and ghee than the local cows. Gurukul students perform Yagya every morning and evening at Yagyashala. The students of this institution perform remarkably every year in the field of education. In both Gurukuls, girls are taught self-defence methods like using spear and sword, fighting with sticks, using sticks in five ways and conquering the enemy even without weapons, etc.

Higher educated girls here are spreading ancient culture and civilization to every corner of India. Kanya Gurukul Committee president Omprakash Panchgawan said that this Gurukul and college is the only free educational center based on ancient methods in the six districts of southern Haryana. For its operation, the executive members have to collect grains and donations from everywhere. If the state and central governments provide him proper assistance, he will pass more tests.
