Now visitors to this prison will have to prove at the outside door that they are relatives of the prisoner. This investigation will be even stricter, especially for women. The Gorakhpur jail administration has taken this decision keeping in mind many incidents that have come to light in the recent past. In this sense, the prison administration has surprised many girls with false documents and objectionable material. In the new guidelines given by the Gorakhpur jail management for visitors, it is clearly stated that now no prisoner will be allowed to meet anyone other than his family member. To do this, each visitor will be duly controlled at the exterior door itself. The visitor will have the opportunity to meet only after proving his blood relationship with the prisoner. If any visitor does not demonstrate their relationship, the meeting will be cancelled. According to the prison management, the prisoners’ girlfriends have also come to receive them. Recently, during investigation, not only fake documents were recovered from many such brides but many objectionable materials including mobile phones were also found. A prisoner’s girlfriend had entered the prison with a mobile phone for him. In such a situation, keeping in mind the security inside the jail, a new guideline has been issued. This has also been strictly enforced, according to the jail management, now if someone wants to meet through a lawyer, they will also have to present all valid documents. According to jailer Arun Kushwaha, the new system has been implemented with immediate effect and with complete rigor. Now all visitors will have to prove their relationship with the prisoner in addition to showing their Aadhar card.
