Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a special program organized on the occasion of National Unity Day in Gujarat. Under this programme, he paid tribute to the Statue of Unity located at Kevadiya on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Prime Minister Modi reached the Statue of Unity around 7:15 in the morning and offered floral tributes there. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi took oath to the people remembering the unique contribution of Sardar Patel. He said that we must maintain the unity, integrity and national dedication of the country. In addition to this, Prime Minister Modi asked people to take a pledge to ensure their contribution to the internal security of the country.

Taking oath on the occasion of Unity Day, Modi said, “I solemnly swear that I will dedicate myself to the unity, integrity and security of the nation and will also do my best to spread this message among my countrymen.”
He further said: I take this oath in the spirit of unity of my country, which was made possible by the foresight and actions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I also solemnly pledge to do my part to ensure the security of my country. In the programme, the Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of foresight and leadership of Sardar Patel. He inspired citizens to follow his ideals.
After the swearing-in, the Unity Day Parade began. The parade includes police personnel from 9 states and 1 Union Territory, contingents from 4 Central Armed Police Forces, NCC cadets and 16 marching contingents along with a marching band.

To enhance the appeal of this parade, spectacular performances like Hell March contingent of NSG, demonstration of male and female bikers of BSF and CRPF, martial arts display of BSF jawans, school bagpipe band show and aerial parade can be held. ‘Surya Kiran’ by Indian Air. Forces were organized. Programs were also included.
This program was organized on the occasion of National Unity Day, where the hard work and dedication of Sardar Patel was appreciated.
Prime Minister Modi arrived in Gujarat on Wednesday where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 280 crore in Ekta Nagar.
