Israel Hezbollah War: Israel’s military campaign against Hezbollah is continually intensifying. After Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, Israel has now killed his possible successor, Hashem Saffieddin. The Israeli military has confirmed Safieddin’s death. The Israeli military says Saffieddin was killed in an airstrike in Beirut three weeks ago. Hezbollah has not yet responded to Israel’s statement.
Hashem Saffieddin was Nasrallah’s cousin.
Hashem Saffieddin was a member of the Shura Council, Hezbollah’s highest political-military forum. Saffieddin was responsible for decision-making and policy-making in the terrorist organization. Hashem was a cousin of former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and had significant influence within the organization. He also oversaw Hezbollah’s financial and administrative affairs. Saffieddin was seen as Nasrallah’s successor.
