There is a good opportunity to pursue Aviation Security Management (Advanced Master’s Course) course from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras. IIT Madras has partnered with French university L’École Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC) to launch a course on ‘Air Safety Management’ in the Indian civil aviation industry. This course has been designed with the help of Airbus to improve safety education in the field of aviation. The first batch of this course will start in January 2025, in which there will be a total of 30 places.

Course duration
This is a two-year course where there will be a one-week personal program every two months for the first year and a one-week per month personal program for the second year. Experts from France will come to teach throughout the program. The new course at IIT Madras involves a six-month project or dissertation.

Who can admit?
This course will be a hybrid format in which you must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or college. Apart from this, professional experience in the relevant field has been sought. Your online and offline classes will take place 5 days a week. Faculties from France and Europe will receive classes. To take admission in this course, candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 5 lakh.

Professor V Kamakoti, director of IIT Madras, says ENAC for airline safety management has emphasized the importance of the initiative to improve safety education as air travel continues to grow. “Our relationship will affect all travelers traveling to and from India,” he said.

Dr MJ Shankar Raman, CEO of the promoter, highlighted the need for such a course in the rapidly evolving civil aviation scenario, which despite its rapid growth is facing various challenges. He said: “This course will ensure that our travel experience is safe and reliable, with seamless interaction between the different business units of the airline industry.”
