Team India defeated defending world champions Germany 5-3 in the second and final hockey test played at the Major Dhyan Chand Nation Stadium in New Delhi on Thursday (October 24). After a few minutes, India got a penalty corner in which the host team tried a variation and Amit Rohidas, playing his 200th match, passed the ball to Harmanpreet, but his shot was saved by the German goalkeeper.
India failed to get a penalty corner on Germany’s counterattack. India got two more penalty corners but could not score. The penalty corner that Germany got two minutes before the break was in vain. In the first four minutes of the second half, India played aggressively and scored three penalty corners, but could not open the score.
After this, Harmanpreet gave India the lead by converting two penalty corners within a minute. Sukhjeet scored a goal in the 34th minute and Abhishek scored the fourth goal for India.
