After the agreement between India and China, on the LAC in eastern Ladakh, disengagement of forces i.e. withdrawal of troops began. Sources have given this information. Local commanders in Depsang and Demchowk are monitoring the withdrawal. On Wednesday in Demchowk a tent was removed from both sides.
Some temporary structures were also demolished Thursday. At Demchowk, Indian troops are withdrawing towards the western side of the Charding Nala, while Chinese troops are withdrawing towards the eastern side of the nala. There are between 10 and 12 temporary structures and about 12 tents built on both sides, which are ready to be removed.
Patrolling can begin in 4-5 days
The Chinese military does not have tents in Depsang, but has created temporary shelters using tarps between vehicles. On Thursday, the Chinese army reduced the number of vehicles in the area and the Indian army also reduced some troops from there. Once this process is completed, patrols in Depsang and Demchowk are expected to resume in the next 4-5 days.
Agreement signed between India and China
India and China have reached a new agreement to withdraw their troops and resume patrols on the Line of Actual Control. This agreement is reportedly related to patrolling in the Depsang and Demchowk areas. According to the information, patrols have been started in both conflict points (Depsang and Demchowk) and soon both countries will begin to withdraw their troops, which in military terms is called withdrawal.
Speech prior to PM Modi’s visit to Russia
Foreign Minister Vikram Misri gave information in this regard on Monday. He said the tension that arose in eastern Ladakh in 2020 is gradually being resolved thanks to the agreement reached between the two countries on the patrolling system. This important development came just before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia for the 16th BRICS summit held on October 22-23.
