The Indian team failed to reach the final of the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Team Asia Cup 2024. India-A was defeated by Afghanistan-A by 20 runs in the semi-final match. In the match played at Al Emirates Cricket Ground (Oman) on October 25 (Friday), the Indian team was targeting 207 runs to win but could only score 186 runs for seven wickets. Now Afghanistan-A will face Sri Lanka-A in the final match to be held on October 27. Sri Lanka-A had defeated Pakistan-A by seven wickets in the first semi-final.
While chasing the target in the match, the Indian team lost wickets continuously. There was a time when his score was 100 runs for five wickets. From here on, Ramandeep Singh gave some hope by batting stormily but his innings could not win the match for the Indian team. Ramandeep scored 64 runs in 34 balls, which included 8 fours and two sixes. Ayush Badoni contributed 31 runs and Nishant Sindhu contributed 23 runs. For Afghanistan-A, Allah Ghazanfar and Abdul Rehman took two wickets each.
India A was close to the target, but it is Afghanistan A who qualifies for the final.

Earlier, Afghanistan A won the toss and batted first and scored 206 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Zubaid Akbari and Sadiqullah Atal together added 137 runs for the first wicket. Atal scored 83 runs in 52 balls with the help of seven fours and four sixes. While Akbari played an innings of 64 runs in 41 balls. Akbari hit five fours and four sixes in his innings. Karim Janat also contributed 41 runs. For India-A, Rasikh Salam Dar took the maximum three wickets.

Bangladesh-A, Sri Lanka-A, Afghanistan-A and Hong Kong were retained in Group A. Apart from India-A, Group B included Pakistan-A, hosts Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
Its first season was held in Singapore in 2013, when the Indian team won the title by defeating Pakistan in the final. Subsequently, the Sri Lankan team became champions for two consecutive seasons (2017, 2018). The fourth season was hosted by Bangladesh in 2019. Pakistan then won the title by defeating hosts Bangladesh in the final. Then last year the fifth season took place in Sri Lanka where Pakistan defeated India to win the title for the second time.
