According to the Jerusalem Post, Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s new account, opened on the Hebrew-language social media platform X, has been suspended after just two posts. “The Israeli regime made a mistake and made a mistake in its calculations regarding Iran. We will explain to it what power, capacity, initiative and will the Iranian nation has,” Khamenei wrote in a post from his new account on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, came this first Hebrew-language publication of Khamenei’s account in which it was written: “In the name of the Merciful Allah.” Let us tell you that both posts came after Israel’s attack on Iranian military bases last week. After this, X has suspended this account.

Khamenei’s tough stance against Israel

On his main X account, Khamenei frequently posts in Hebrew, often using strong language against Israel. Khamenei had said that Israeli airstrikes against Iran should neither be intensified nor underestimated. According to a CNN report, Khamenei said on Sunday that Israel would like to increase the effects of its actions against Iran, but it would also not be correct for Iran to dismiss the attacks as insignificant.

Israel carried out a major airstrike

“They are making miscalculations regarding Iran. They still do not properly understand the power, capability, ingenuity and determination of the Iranian people. We need to explain these things to them,” Khamenei said in comments posted on his website. Israel launched an attack on missile manufacturing facilities, surface-to-air missile ranges and other “air capabilities” after Iran said Israeli airstrikes on its military bases killed two soldiers on Saturday.

Israel had said: we take revenge

It later said the airstrike had “concluded” its response to the missile attack launched by Iran on October 1, adding that its fighter jets had returned safely and that the mission had been “accomplished.” Iran’s air force confirmed strikes against military targets in Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam provinces, causing “limited damage.”
