Jharkhand elections: Why did Champai Soren, the second great leader of the JMM, reach 27th position in the BJP?

Former CM of Jharkhand Champai Soren

Former Chief Minister Champai Soren's name is making headlines in the list of Jharkhand BJP's star activists. Champai, who was the second leader of the JMM, has been placed at 27th position in the BJP list. BJP has placed 6 Jharkhand leaders above Champai. Interestingly, the list of star activists in which Champai has been placed at 27th position has been prepared only for Kolhan's promotion. Kolhan is considered the stronghold of Champai Soren. Champai is also called Tiger in Kolhan politics.

After Champai's name is on the 27th rank, the question arises whether BJP is trying to distance itself from the former CM or is trying to send a message by keeping Champai back.

Names of these leaders about Champai

The names that the Bharatiya Janata Party has given importance over Champai. Among them are 6 leaders from Jharkhand. Above Champai, the names of former CM Babu Lal Marandi, former CM Arjun Munda, opposition leader Amar Kumar Bauri, Union Minister Annapurna Devi, Union Minister Sanjay Seth and former MP Ravindra are included. Rai.

There is not a single former Chief Minister named under Champai. Currently, four former CMs are politically active within the BJP. These include the names of Champai Soren, Arjun Munda, Babu Lal Marandi and Madhu Koda.

All leaders whose names are below Champai are considered second-level leaders in Jharkhand BJP.

Champai had also disappeared from the poster

Champai Soren had also disappeared from BJP posters before the elections. The poster released by BJP on Parivartan had only photographs of Amar Kumar Bauri, Babu Lal Marandi and Arjun Munda.

Champai has not received much attention even in ticket distribution. The BJP high command is said to have accepted Champai's preference in only 3 of the 14 Kolhan seats.

Even in Santhal and other places, Champai could not get tickets for his people. Shibu Soren's daughter-in-law Sita Soren was also with Champai, but she did not get the seat of her choice. BJP sent Sita to Jamtara.

Is there a game with Champai?

When Champai joined the BJP, senior party leaders welcomed him with music. BJP intended to break with Champai and play in Kolhan, but now the party seems to be getting rid of Champai.

Champai is said to be proving to be more of a liability than an asset for BJP. In fact, when Champai came, the BJP was hopeful that JMM would also bring in some important leaders by defeating the former Chief Minister.

However, this was not possible due to the activism of Hemant Soren. Not even a single big JMM leader joined the BJP with Champai. On the contrary, in Kolhan there was a big rift within the BJP over Champai.

BJP's Ganesh Mahali, Laxman Tudu, Basco Besra, Bari Murmu and Kunal Shadangi have joined JMM. Hemant has even featured Ganesh Mahali against Champai.

The BJP, which came on the defensive after facing so many setbacks, is said to be in no mood to give much importance to Champai now. The party fears that due to Champai, its core voters will also disperse in Kolhan.

BJP reduced to zero in Kolhan

In the 2019 assembly elections, Indian Alliance parties won 13 of 14 seats in Kolhan. Independent Saryu Rai had won one seat, Jamshedpur East. The BJP lost all 14 seats in the Kolhan belt.

Its chief ministerial candidate, Raghubar Das, a native of Kolhan, also lost the election. This time, BJP has made a strong display in Kolhan. Where the party has formed an alliance with JDU and AJSU. At the same time, veterans have also been dispatched.

This time in Kolhan, tickets were given to the families of Arjun Munda, Raghubar Das and Madhu Koda. Similarly, Champai and his sons are also contesting elections under the BJP symbol in this area.
