Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024: Only a few days are left for the Jharkhand assembly elections. Voting will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20 for the state’s 81 seats. The election results will be announced on November 23. In view of this, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Wednesday released its third list of five more candidates, in which outgoing MLAs Chamra Linda and Sukhram Oraon have been fielded from Bishnupur and Chakradharpur seats.
Chamra Linda had won the 2019 assembly elections from Bishnupur seat by defeating BJP’s Ashok Oraon by 17,382 votes. Sukhram Oraon had won against BJP’s Laxman Giluva by a margin of 12,234 votes. Besides Linda and Oraon, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has fielded Yogendra Prasad from Gomiya, Snehlata Kandulna from Khunti (reserved) and Jiga Susaran Horo from Sisai seat (reserved).
36 names on first and second list
Earlier in the day, JMM announced the names of 35 candidates in the first list, in which Chief Minister Hemant Soren was named candidate from Barhait and Kalpana Soren from Gandey and in the second list, Mahua Maji was named candidate from Ranchi. Mahua Maji is currently Rajya Sabha member of JMM from Jharkhand. JMM once sent him from Ranchi assembly seat. In the 2019 assembly elections too, Mahua Maji had contested from Ranchi on JMM ticket but was defeated. In the 2019 elections, Mahua Maji lost to BJP’s CP Singh by a margin of 5,904 votes. Mahua Maji has also been the president of the Jharkhand Women’s Commission. Apart from this, he has also made a great contribution in the field of literature and writing.
