After the Congress, the BJP also announced the name of the candidate for the by-election in Kedarnath assembly seat in Uttarakhand. The BJP has once again expressed confidence in its former MLA for the byelection in this assembly seat. The party has declared Asha Nautiyal as its candidate. The Kedarnath assembly seat had fallen vacant due to the death of BJP MLA Shaila Rani Rawat.

On Sunday, the Congress expressed confidence in former MP Manoj Rawat and declared him its candidate. Rawat, who became an MLA for the first time from the Kedarnath seat in the year 2017, had to finish third in the assembly elections of 2022. Rawat has entered politics from the field of journalism.
The last date to withdraw the nomination is November 4.
The last date to file nomination papers for the by-election in Kedarnath assembly seat is October 29, while the nomination papers will be examined on October 30 and the last date to withdraw nominations is October 4 November. Voting for Kedarnath assembly seat will be held on November 20 and counting of votes will take place on November 23.

Officials said 173 polling stations have been created for Kedarnath assembly constituency. He said there are 90,540 voters in the assembly constituency, which includes 45,775 women voters. Both the Congress and BJP political parties consider these by-elections to be very important and they do not want to miss them. After defeating the Congress 5-0 in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had to face defeat in two assembly by-elections held in the state – Badrinath and Mangalore, so this time the party does not want to leave unturned stone.
