Maharashtra: After 30 years, will CM’s chair go to Pawar’s house? Sharad thus sets the political board

Sharad Pawar, 83, is famous for surprising people with his political decisions from Maharashtra to the country. Senior Pawar has once again surprised everyone by sharing a seat in Mahavikas Aghadi. Despite having the smallest support base among the three parties, Sharad Pawar’s party has the same number of seats.

After Sharad Pawar got 85 seats as per the deal, the question arises, how did Pawar manage to achieve this and what does Pawar want to achieve with this?

Is Pawar eyeing the CM chair?

Sharad Pawar, who has lost 85 alliance seats, is being debated very quickly. He wonders if Sharad Pawar is eyeing the Chief Minister’s post. There are two big reasons for this discussion:

1. Sharad Pawar’s party had the highest win rate in the Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections. NCP (Sharad), which fielded candidates for 9 seats, won 8. Looking at this percentage of strikes, Sharad Pawar’s party can win 60-70 seats. If this happens, then Pawar’s claim for the CM post may be the strongest.

2. Sharad Pawar had recently discussed the CM’s presidency through Jayant Patil at a rally. This time Pawar is not even announcing the name of the Chief Minister before the elections. Behind this is an incident from the 2004 elections. In 2004, Pawar had announced that he would become Congress Chief Minister before the elections. In 2004, the PCN won 2 more seats than the Congress. Despite this, Pawar handed over the CM chairmanship to the Congress.

The Sharad Pawar family has not held the CM chair for 30 years. Last time, Sharad Pawar was Chief Minister of Maharashtra between 1993 and 1995.

If given a chance, who will fill the CM post?

This is also discussed in political circles. Baramati MP Supriya Sule is Sharad Pawar’s daughter. When Ajit Pawar rebelled, he said that I was not a son, so I was not allowed to become Chief Minister.

The way Sharad Pawar is setting the political board at the moment, it is said that if the keys of power come to Pawar’s hands in the future, then the way may be paved for Supriya to become CM.

There is also discussion in political circles that Sharad Pawar may retain the CM chair. The reason for this is the betrayal of loved ones. Pawar has recently had to face the betrayal of his nephew and his confidants.

Actually, this time there is a gap of only 3 days between the results in Maharashtra and the end of the term of the Maharashtra Assembly. In such a situation, the parties will not be able to negotiate much during this period.

The way there has been a dispute between Shiv Sena (Uddhav) and Congress over seat sharing. It has made Sharad Pawar even stronger.

When did Sharad Pawar surprise you?

Sharad Pawar, who formed the Nationalist Congress Party in 1999 in opposition to the Congress, formed an alliance with the Congress in 2004. Sharad Pawar was made a cabinet minister in the Congress government. Even if we leave aside the pre-2004 history, there were many such occasions in the last 20 years when Pawar surprised everyone politically.

In 2006, for the first time, Pawar launched his daughter Supriya into politics. At that time his nephew Ajit was not even aware of it. When Ajit rebelled, he introduced Supriya into national politics. In 2009, when there was talk of Supriya becoming a minister, Agatha Sangma from the northeast was made a cabinet minister with her quota.

In 2010, Ajit Pawar was given the post of deputy CM in Maharashtra, bypassing senior leaders. The Congress and NCP alliance lost in the 2014 elections. The BJP became the largest party, but fell short of an absolute majority.

Ally Shiv Sena started negotiating. To break Shiv Sena’s bargaining chip, Sharad Pawar provided unconditional support from outside. Finally, Shiv Sena joined hands with the NDA in 2019, when no party won a majority, the BJP once again took hope from the NCP.

There was also news that Sharad Pawar met big BJP leaders, but Pawar put Uddhav in front. Pawar joined the government along with Uddhav. In 2023, when his nephew pressed, Pawar announced his resignation. Ajit was surprised by this move of Pawar.

Keep an eye on Ajit-Uddhav’s political decisions

After the elections, the political decisions of Ajit Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray will also be monitored. After 3 years, Uddhav’s party was dissolved. Ajit had become a rebel two years ago. Uddhav was allied with the BJP before Mahavikas Aghadi. Similarly, Ajit was in alliance with the Congress with his uncle.

It is said that both the political birds may be flying in the sky right now, but there are chances of both of them returning home.
