When there was an uproar about this in political circles including social media, Nawab Malik gave a clarification and said that I am now the official candidate of the NCP.
Nawab Malik had filed two nomination papers.
Nawab Malik filed two nomination papers each from Mumbai’s Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar assembly seat, one as a NCP candidate (Ajit Pawar) and the other as an independent candidate. As soon as this was revealed, there was a huge uproar because the BJP did not want to give entry to Nawab Malik. After the stir, Malik said that he is the official candidate of the NCP.
Nawab Malik’s statement
Nawab Malik said, “Today I filed a nomination from Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar assembly constituency as an NCP candidate. I also filed a nomination as an independent candidate, but the party sent the AB form and we filed it at 2:55 pm. Now “I am the official candidate of the NCP. I am very grateful to Ajit Pawar and Sunil Tatkare. I am sure that this time we will win the Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar constituency.”

Earlier, Nawab Malik had said that the party’s AB form had not been submitted. If the AB form is submitted on time, I will participate as a party candidate; Otherwise, I will participate independently according to the wishes of the people.
