Mohali News: Center has always been unfair to Punjab: Barsat

He said whether it is BJP or Congress, they all have killed the rights of Punjab.

Mohali News (Aaj Samaj), Mohali: Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Harchand Singh Barsat blamed the central government and said that the problems we are facing in the current rice season are the responsibility of the central government. Barsat said the state government has been demanding from the Center for the last few months that the warehouses in the state be emptied so that there is no problem in storing rice in the upcoming season.

On the other hand, the central government did not pay attention to it. The result of which has been that today the storage problem in the state has become very serious. He said the central government has always supported Punjab, be it the BJP or the Congress government. The Central Government is making continuous efforts to deteriorate the environment of Punjab and due to its stepmotherly behaviour, there have been problems in getting rice out of the markets of Punjab.

He deliberately did not take grain from state warehouses.

Barsat said the central government is deliberately delaying the movement of grain stocks already in warehouses in the state of Punjab, while around 20,000 metric tonnes of rice is also in the warehouses of Punjab shellers. Similarly, in the warehouses of Punjab, be it an FCI warehouse, a warehouse or any other warehouse, there is a stock of around 140 lakh metric tonnes of rice and wheat and all this stock belongs to the Central Government, which is distributed by the Central Government was not collected on time.

He further said that on behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, talks have also been held with the Union Minister and Home Minister, but despite this, Punjab issues continue to be ignored. He said that the Union Minister also met the sheller owners, while the central government should establish contacts with the Punjab government in this regard to resolve the problems of farmers, commission agents, labourers, sheller owners and traders. .
