The custodial death case of a youth named Mohit Pandey is being discussed at the Chinhat police station in Lucknow. Family members allege that after being beaten up by the police, Mohit’s health deteriorated due to which he died. Currently, Mohit Pandey’s post mortem report has been released but the cause of death is not clear from it. Therefore the viscera have been preserved.
At the same time, after the stir, Inspector Chinhat Ashwini Chaturvedi has been suspended. Further, the investigation into the alleged custodial death case has been shifted from Chinhat police station to Gomti Nagar extension police. Based on the complaint of the relatives, a case has also been registered.

Serious accusations against the Chinhat police
After a dispute, the police are said to have arrested the accused Mohit Pandey at 11 pm. At 1:30 in the morning information came to light that his health had deteriorated. He later died in hospital during treatment. Now there is a big stir over this death in police custody. It has been reported that the young man lost his life due to a police beating. After the incident, the young man’s family alleges that police officers from Chinhat police station beat Mohit so badly that he lost his life.
According to the family members of the deceased, Mohit had a minor dispute with a person named Aadesh. It is alleged that Aadesh’s uncle is a local leader, so the police detained Mohit under pressure. When his brother Shobharam reached the police station to meet Mohit, he was also detained. The police arrested Mohit at 11 pm, but recorded 1.30 am.
Don’t you know what happened to Mohit between 11 and 1:30? But in the CCTV footage that came out at 1.30 pm, Mohit’s health is deteriorating. Mohit was reportedly taken to Lohia Hospital, where he lost his life.
After the allegations were made, on instructions from senior officers, a case was registered against Chinhat police station in-charge Ashwini Kumar under section 302, following which he was removed; now sub-inspector Bharat Kumar Pathak has been given charge of police station.
After this incident, Mohit’s family members are in bad condition and crying. The family demands that strict action be taken against the accused. Additionally, the family should receive compensation of Rs 50 lakh as maintenance. Mohit’s wife should get a government job and the CBI should investigate the incident.
