New Delhi: More than 75 per cent women feel unsafe while traveling in buses in the country’s capital Delhi. An NGO has published a shocking report in this regard. 77 per cent of women in Delhi reportedly feel unsafe while traveling on Delhi buses at night, while Delhi government’s free bus travel scheme tops ‘pink’ tickets of 100 million rupees issued to women.

In its latest report “Riding the Justice Route”, NGO Greenpeace India said that 75 per cent of women surveyed have seen significant savings thanks to the “Pink Ticket” programme. Many of them have spent these funds on household needs, emergencies and medical care.
Additionally, 25 percent of women surveyed have increased their use of public buses and women who previously avoided buses travel regularly since the plan’s launch in October 2019.
