IPS officer Hasmukh Patel has been appointed as the new chairman of the Gujarat Public Service Commission, who was selected after the expiry of Nalin Upadhyay’s tenure. Hasmukh Patel is a 1993 batch IPS officer from Gujarat and is currently serving as the Chairman of the Police Recruitment Board.

Last year, Hasmukh Patel, while serving as the chairman of the Gujarat Panchayat Services Selection Board, faced challenges like document leak and successfully completed the recruitment exams. Apart from this, they also performed well in the LRD (Lok Rakshak Dal) exam. His hard work and honest work style have re-established the confidence of candidates in the recruitment process, hence he is appreciated as an efficient and trustworthy officer.
He will assume the position of GPSC president from November 11

Hasmukh Patel told the media that he will take charge of the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) from November 11. Hasmukh Patel’s native place is Banaskantha district and he is a 1993 batch IPS officer from Gujarat. During his career he has served in various important positions. As Superintendent of Police, he discharged his responsibilities in Prohibition, Surat, Porbandar, Valsad and Bhavnagar railways. Apart from this, while holding the posts of DIG and IGP, he also worked in Surat Range, Gandhinagar Range, Anti-Corruption Bureau and State Monitoring Cell. His multidimensional administrative capacity and experience make him a competent and efficient official.

His term as GPSC president will be 2 years and 8 months, and before assuming this position he must resign from the police service.
