Ambala News: Ambala. The ninth two-day event of the Model United Nations Conference began at SD Vidya School, Ambala Cantt.
Principal Neelinderjit Kaur Sandhu, Principal of SD Vidya School and Daisy Gupta, Program Coordinator were present as chief guests. The program began with lighting of the lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana.
This was followed by an interesting preview showing the agenda of the two committees, the UNGA and the CSW.
The main focus of SDV MUN 2024 was on the implementation of the New Education Policy 2020, with special emphasis on experiential learning to promote holistic and applied education.
The SDV MUN Conference 2024 brought together an incredible group of over 92 youth delegates from over 12 schools across Ambala, Delhi, Mullana and Chandigarh region to deliberate over two days of brainstorming sessions on various global agendas.
The agenda of the United Nations General Assembly was to “discuss the production of small arms and light weapons within the scope of public utility, including the prohibition of illicit trade and circulation.” The agenda of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) was. promote gender equality. Adoption of policies for sustainable development, with special emphasis on access to education and technology.
There will be heated debates on these issues among representatives at these meetings. The Secretariat welcomed members of both the United Nations General Assembly Committees and the UNCSW Executive Board.
MUN general secretary Kumari Monal Hariyal received the award from the chief guest. After his enlightening speech to the delegates, he formally declared the conference open.
Principal Neel Indrajit Kaur Sandhu motivated the students by appreciating their efforts and developing a deeper understanding of important global issues.
He said that this event will inspire new talents and clarify in them a new perception of the global world.
Under the guidance of the school's president, BK Soni, the school always promotes opportunities for students to explore various career-related departments for a successful future.
