Dubai: Iranian authorities have allowed jailed Nobel Peace Prize winner Nargis Mohammadi to be admitted to hospital for treatment. Mohammadi was ill for about nine weeks. This information has been given by an organization about the social worker. A statement from the Free Norwegian Coalition said Mohammadi should be granted medical leave to receive treatment. The statement also said that months of neglect and lack of care had resulted in this serious health problem.
increased punishment
Mohammadi is being held in Iran’s Evin prison, where political prisoners and people associated with Western countries are held. He was already serving a 30-month sentence, to which 15 more months were added in January. Iranian authorities on Saturday issued an additional six-month sentence against him because he protested the execution of another political prisoner in the women’s ward of Evin prison on August 6.
