Cases related to threats to blow up planes do not stop. Now 85 planes have received threats to explode. These include 20 Air India aircraft. Among the threatened aircraft are 20 Indigo, 20 Vistara and 25 Akasa flights.
According to the news agency, before this, the Delhi Police had registered eight separate FIRs in the last eight days in connection with the threat to bomb more than 90 domestic and international flights. Among the threatened flights are the services of Akasa, Air India, Indigo and Vistara. These flights operate from Delhi to various domestic and international destinations. Police say investigations are underway in these cases.
According to a senior police official, threatening messages were received at X that were later rejected by the authorities. The first case was related to the attack on the Akasa flight to Bengaluru on October 16. A case was registered after receiving a bomb threat through SMS. More than 180 passengers were traveling on board this plane. The plane had to return to Delhi. The next day, police wrote a letter to social media platform X requesting details of the account that posted the threatening messages.
Various Cyber Cell teams of Delhi Police are monitoring activities on X and other social media platforms regarding ongoing threats to flights. In less than a week, more than 170 flights have received bomb threats. Meanwhile, the government is planning legislative action to address bomb threats to airlines, including putting perpetrators on a no-fly list.
