At least one person died and 40 others were injured in a tragic accident near Tel Aviv, northern Israel. The condition of at least 10 of them is said to be critical. The accident occurred when a truck ran over passengers who were at a bus stop near the Israeli military base of Gilyot.
Initial police investigation revealed that the truck driver also crashed into the bus that was unloading passengers. Images and videos available on social media show that many people were trapped under the truck, so locals came to help. As soon as information about the accident was received, military helicopters also began to fly over the sky.

The Israeli Defense Minister called it a terrorist attack.
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called it a terrorist attack and insisted that arming civilians was justified. He praised the police and civilians who eliminated the attacker. He said this incident is a result of the government’s policy of strict action against terrorism.
After this incident, discussion has intensified over whether the families of such attackers should be deported. Israel also has laws to deal with these types of attacks, and after the latest attacks there has been renewed debate over a law designed to deport the families of attackers.

Israelis were currently holding programs to commemorate the October 7 Hamas attack, which sparked war in Gaza and Lebanon. Hamas launched rocket attacks on Israel on October 7 and in the war since then, Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar and Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon have been killed.
Just hours before this attack, an attacker had attempted to stab Israeli soldiers in Hizma, near Jerusalem. However, the army killed him there.
