Online applications for the Prime Minister’s Internship Program have started from October 12, the last date of which is October 25. Eligible candidates who have not yet applied can register online by visiting the official website pminternship.mca.gov.in.
The duration of the internship under the Prime Minister’s Internship Program will be one year (12 months). The objective of this scheme is to provide internship opportunities to 1 crore youth over a period of five years. Among them, there are maximum opportunities in the gas, oil and energy sectors. After this, there are internship opportunities in the travel and hospitality sector. A candidate can choose a maximum of 5 internship options and apply.
Benefit: The selected trainee will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000. The central government contributes Rs 4,500, while companies add Rs 500 from their corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds. The intern will also receive a block grant of Rs 6,000.
Who can apply?
Students studying online or remotely after 12th can apply for the internship program. Applicants must be between 21 and 24 years old. Candidates over 24 years of age should not apply. Youth whose annual family income is more than Rs 8 lakh or any family member who has a permanent government job or has graduated from big institutes like IIT, IIM, IISER, NID, IIIT, NLU are not eligible to apply.
