Prime Minister Narendra Modi may address 11-12 rallies for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. State BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule gave this information on Friday. Elections to the 288-member state assembly will be held on November 20 and counting of votes will take place three days later on November 23. However, the list of top BJP activists is yet to be known for the assembly elections to be held in the state. There is no doubt that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be number one among BJP’s star activists.
Speaking to the media, Maharashtra BJP state president Bawankule said PM Modi is likely to hold public rallies at 11-12 places. He said that this rally of PM Modi can be held in Gondia, Akola, Nanded, Dhule, Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The situation of the demonstrations will become clearer in the coming days.
On one side Mahayuti and on the other Mahavikas Aghadi
The ruling Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra includes the BJP, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). In these elections, the BJP is once again trying to capture power in the state. On the other hand, there is the opposition Mahavikas Aghadi alliance, which includes Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, Congress and Sharad Pawar-led NCP, which is busy strategizing electoral strategies to return to power.
PM Modi’s rally may begin after Diwali
Prime Minister Modi’s rallies in Maharashtra are believed to begin after Diwali and continue up to 48 hours before the vote. At the rallies, PM Modi will once again try to turn the electoral wind towards Mahayuti. Most of the political parties in the state are still busy in the distribution of seats.
Talks on 276 seats have been completed among NDA voters regarding the Maharashtra Assembly elections, but around 12 seats are still to be discussed and the names of the candidates are yet to be decided. BJP will soon release the seats decided after the split. According to sources, of the 288 seats in the state, the BJP can contest in 155-156 seats, the Shiv Sena Shinde faction can contest in 82-83 seats and the NCP’s Ajit Pawar faction can contest in 50-51 seats.
The BJP has fielded candidates for 99 seats
The BJP has also released the first list of 99 candidates. It is believed that once the discussion on the remaining seats is over, the candidates for the remaining seats will be announced in the coming days. The BJP has fielded state deputy CM and party leader Devendra Fadnavis from the south-west Nagpur seat. Meanwhile, BJP state president Bawankule is contesting from the Kamathi seat.
