Dilip Khedkar, father of dismissed IAS trainee Pooja Khedkar, is once again in the election fray. Dilip Khedkar is contesting the Maharashtra Assembly elections as an independent candidate from Ahmednagar South Assembly constituency. He has revealed in his nomination that he is divorced.
This situation is contrary to the information given in his affidavit during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Dilip Khedkar also participated in the Lok Sabha elections held a few months ago and declared himself married to Manorama Khedkar.

Then, Dilip Khedkar had contested the general elections from Ahmednagar constituency with the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi party, but had to face a crushing defeat. In his affidavit filed for the Lok Sabha elections, Dilip Khedkar described Manorama Khedkar as his wife and gave details of the jointly owned properties. He also described his family as an “undivided Hindu family”.

The divorce took place in June 2010.
Documents obtained by Aaj Tak show that Dilip and Manorama Khedkar had filed for divorce by mutual consent in the Pune family court in 2009 and the divorce became final on June 25, 2010. It is said that despite the divorce, both the Husband and wife lived together in a bungalow owned by Manorama Khedkar in Baner area of Pune.
The government has sacked Pooja Khedkar
Let us tell you that the Central Government has taken action against dismissed IAS trainee Pooja Khedkar under Rule 12 of the IAS (Trial) Rules, 1954 and has relieved her from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) with immediate effect. The government has taken action against Pooja for misusing OBC and disability quota in UPSC exam. Earlier, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had canceled his candidature on July 31. He was also excluded from future exams.

Pooja Khedkar appeared in the OBC quota examination in 2020-21 with the name ‘Pooja Diliprao Khedkar’. After completing all attempts in 2021-22, Pooja appeared in the exam under the OBC and PWBD (Persons with Disabilities) quota. He then used the name ‘Pooja Manorama Dilip Khedkar’. Pooja had secured 821st rank at the All India level. On July 11, a single-member committee was formed to verify his candidacy claims, and a report was presented on July 24. Taking into account the report of the Committee, the Government carried out an inquiry under the provisions of Rule 12 of the IAS (Parole) Rules, 1954.
