In this fast celebrated on Thursday, women worship Ahoi Ashtami Mata and pray for happiness, prosperity of the family and long life of their children.
Before this, women shopped in the markets for the festival. Puja material, photographs of Ahoi Mata, etc. were specially purchased. At the same time, in the state’s most backward district, Nuh (Mewat), there is a lot of excitement these days regarding the month of Kartik. There is a devotional atmosphere in the temples of the district due to the resonating melodies of conch shells, gongs, dholak and harmonium from Mangalarati. Apart from Nuh’s Ram temple, Kailash, Shivdeshwar and Bhuteshwar temples, devotees are spreading widely to Tavadu’s Sanatan Dharma temple, Sitaram temple, Amma ji temple, etc. People also take Kartik bath in the morning. Kartik Mahatma Path is organized in the month of Kartik.
