In 2021, the Indian Ministry of Defense signed a deal worth Rs 21,935 crore with Airbus Defense and Space, Spain, for the supply of 56 C-295 transport aircraft to replace the Force’s aging Avro-748 aircraft. Indian Air. Under this contract, 16 aircraft will be delivered fully assembled from Spain, while the remaining 40 aircraft will be assembled at TASL’s plant in Vadodara. The first C-295 aircraft to be built in Vadodara will be ready by September 2026. All aircraft manufactured at TASL are scheduled to be delivered by August 2031.
