The Punjab government on Saturday took strict action in the case of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi who gave an interview from jail. Taking concrete action against Bishnoi who gave an interview from jail, the government has suspended 7 police officers, including a DSP. The Ministry of the Interior has also issued a letter in this regard.
The Punjab Home Department issued a letter saying that after finding him guilty in the investigation, the government suspended him. Lawrence Bishnoi gave interviews from a Punjab jail last year while in police custody. After which many questions arose regarding the functioning of the police. However, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is currently lodged in Gujarat's Sabarmati Jail.
They, including DSP Gursher Singh, were suspended.
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's name is also linked to the Baba Siddiqui murder case in Mumbai. Along with this, he is also in the news about the recent shooting near actor Salman Khan's house. The story of the interview given from jail also revolved around Salman Khan. In the interview he openly talked about killing Salman.
In the Lawrence Bishnoi interrogation case, the SIT has found guilty Punjab Police DSP Gursher Singh, DSP Samar Vineet, Sub-Inspector Reena, Sub-Inspector Jagat Pal Jaggu, Sub-Inspector Shaganjit Singh, ASI Mukhtiar Singh and Police chief Om Prakash. After which the government suspended him from service with immediate effect.
The interview took place in police custody – investigation
This matter first came to the High Court after Lawrence Bishnoi gave an interview from jail. Where the court had handed over the investigation of the case to the SIT team under the supervision of DGP (Special) Prabodh Kumar of Punjab Police and Human Rights Commission. After the report was released, politics in Punjab heated up. Opposition parties had raised doubts about the government. Because the investigation found that one of these interviews took place in the custody of the Punjab Police.

At the same time, the investigation revealed that a hack had occurred on CIA personnel in Kharar (where Bishnoi was posted). However, when Bishnoi's interview came to light, the DGP himself took to the field to defend the Punjab Police. He held a press conference and claimed that this interview was old. He also showed some photographs of Bishnoi. At that time there was also talk of interviewing him from Bathinda jail. At the same time, now the Punjab government has taken action in this regard.
