The bodies of five more people have been recovered during search and rescue operations after a seven-storey building under construction collapsed at Babusapalya in Bengaluru, Karnataka. After the recovery of these bodies, the number of people who lost their lives in the accident has now reached 6. This incident occurred on Tuesday, following which teams from the Fire and Emergency Department, NDRF and SDRF are carrying out relief operations on the spot. The incident occurred when it was raining heavily in Bengaluru.
Action will be taken against the building owner and the contractor.
Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar inspected the incident site. He has said that this building under construction in Bengaluru was illegal and strict action will be taken against its owner. He said, “I was told that no permission had been given. Illegal activities were being carried out. We will take strict action against the owner, the contractor and all those involved. All illegal constructions in Bengaluru will be stopped immediately. The contractors, the officials and even property owners, all will be reserved in accordance with the law.
The deputy CM said, “According to the information I received, there were 21 workers here. 26 people work here every day.
