The teacher who gave arbitrary marks to students in the Rajasthan Board 10th Science exam has been suspended with immediate effect. Nimisha Rani, a science teacher at Mahatma Gandhi Government School, Bhagwanganj, Ajmer, had graded the students as per her wish without checking the copies properly. This issue came to light when some bright students unexpectedly obtained very low grades in Science.
In fact, three students from Baran district of Rajasthan had lodged a complaint with the board regarding their answer sheets. When the board downloaded its answer sheets, it discovered that the students’ copies had not even been reviewed. Taking this irregularity seriously, the board ordered to re-verify the three copies immediately. The results revealed that not a single question on these students’ answer sheets was evaluated. The brunt of this mistake had to be borne by bright students like student Mayank Nagar, who was given zero marks even for his correct answers and scored only 58 marks.
Teacher Nimisha Rani had given marks only in Yoga without evaluating the answer sheets of the Science subject in the secondary examination 2024, which is a gross negligence. After the matter came to light, a departmental inquiry was launched on the instructions of Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar. Furthermore, Professor Nimisha has been suspended with immediate effect.
During the period of suspension, his/her headquarters will be Government Higher Secondary School, Bherunda, Bherunda Block, Nagaur District. Education Minister Madan Dilawar said this is a very serious matter. Playing with the future of children will not be tolerated at any level. Strict action will be taken against the culprits. Those who commit such serious negligence will not be spared in the future either.
