Bihar govt extends teachers’ leave during Chhath festival

The Bihar government has extended the leave of teachers during the Chhath festival. By government order, the Department of Education has changed the vacation schedule. Now the teachers will be on leave for four days (November 6 to 9) during Chhath Puja. We tell you that before this license was only 3 days.

Actually, according to the old calendar of the Education Department, there were only three days of holiday for Chhath in government schools, while Chhath is a festival celebrated for four days. No permission was granted on Kharna day i.e. 6th November. Teachers and teacher unions continuously opposed this and demanded the government to extend the Chhath festival. Today, following instructions from CM Nitish Kumar, the Education Department changed the holiday calendar and now made the Chhath holiday four days instead of three.
