Chandrashekhar Azad, Lok Sabha MP from Nagina, Uttar Pradesh, has expressed deep concern over the serious financial crisis of 12 universities funded by the Delhi government. In this context, he addressed the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Prof. I have written a letter to Mr. Jagdish Kumar demanding a solution to the problem.

Demand for resolution of teaching problems in the letter

In his letter, Chandrashekhar has mentioned the serious problems of the staff of these universities such as non-payment of salaries on time, non-payment of medical bills, education allowance, arrears in 7th pay commission, promotions and concessions travel (LTC). He has said that these financial difficulties are not only putting teachers and staff in a serious financial crisis, but are also having a negative impact on educational activities.

Chandrashekhar Azad also said that around 300 ad hoc teachers have been waiting for permanent appointment for many years, many of whom have been working on a temporary basis for 15 years. Apart from this, many posts are vacant in universities and teachers and students are facing problems due to poor infrastructure. To improve the quality of education, he has demanded immediate approval of new teaching posts in Delhi University so that the workload of existing teachers can be reduced and students can get better education.

Letter also sent to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi.

The MP urged the UGC president to find an immediate solution to the financial problems of these universities and take immediate steps to approve the necessary teaching posts. This letter has also been sent to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi so that the Delhi Government can soon take necessary steps in this direction.
