An incident of sexual harassment and abuse of a 12-year-old schoolgirl has come to light in Bhiwandi town of Thane district in Maharashtra. In this case, based on the student’s complaint, a case has been registered against the accused under the Indian Justice Code and the POCSO Act. The police are investigating this matter.
According to the information, the accused has been identified as Safiullah Matiullah Ansari (22). A case was registered against him at the Shantinagar police station on Tuesday. It was reported that on October 19, the defendant harassed the victim for the first time in the playground of his school. He touched her inappropriately.
Three days later, when she was returning home from school after exams with her aunt, the accused followed her. During this time he continued to abuse her. When the victim’s aunt objected to his misconduct, he also misbehaved with her. He warned them that they would face serious consequences.
Police said that based on the complaint lodged by the victim and her family members, a case has been registered under sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS), including 126 (2) (wrongful restraint), 74 (injuring a woman). of outraging dignity), 78 (stalking) and 351 (criminal intimidation), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act is also included. The investigation into this matter is ongoing. The police carry out raids in search of the accused.
