Clearing the UPSC exam is a challenge in itself and securing first rank in it and becoming an IAS or IPS officer is an even bigger challenge. Although thousands of youth of the country appear for the UPSC exam every year, only a few of them are lucky enough to crack this exam and become officers in different government departments including IAS-IPS. Today we are going to tell you about a Muslim woman who is not only an IAS officer, but also has many IAS, IPS and State Civil Service officers in her family.
This Muslim woman’s name is Farah Hussain. He is a resident of Jhanjhunu, Rajasthan. Inspired by her family, Farah cleared the country’s toughest exam, UPSC, in 2016 at just 26 years of age and secured rank 267. Farah had cracked UPSC in her second attempt. He comes from a family of administrative officials who are members of the Kayamkhani minority Muslim community. This community mainly lives in the Jhunjhunu, Churu, Nagaur and Bikaner districts of Rajasthan.
Where did you study from?
Farah graduated from Government Law College, Mumbai i.e. she studied law and then became a criminal lawyer. Although Farah had also participated in beauty pageants in her childhood and also dreamed of becoming a doctor, she later became an IAS officer.

Farah’s father Ashfaq Hussain was also an IAS officer i.e. District Collector. He was recruited in Rajasthan Administrative Service and promoted to IAS in the year 2016. Apart from this, one of his uncle Liaquat Khan was an IPS officer while his other uncle Zakir Khan is an IAS officer while his two cousins are in the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS). More than 14 people in his family reportedly hold senior positions in different services. Two members of his family also hold senior positions in the Indian Army.
