If you also dreamed of working abroad, then don't worry, because now your dream has come true. Yes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that Germany has increased its annual visa quota for skilled Indian professionals from 20,000 to 90,000, which is a 3.5-fold increase.
Germany's economic growth will increase
Prime Minister Modi said that the increase in visa quota will increase Germany's economic growth because the demand for skilled workers will be met and economic cooperation between the two countries will also be strengthened. As a result, Indian professionals will have more employment opportunities in Germany.
Prime Minister Modi made these remarks at the 18th Asia-Pacific German Business 2024 conference in Delhi, which followed German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's visit to India. Earlier, the two leaders held one-on-one meetings at Prime Minister Modi's official residence in the national capital. Scholz's three-day visit to India ends on Saturday.
Later today, India and Germany will also hold the seventh Intergovernmental Consultation, which will be co-chaired by the two leaders. There will be discussions on greater security and defense partnership, greater talent mobility and greater economic cooperation.
25th year of strategic partnership between India and Germany
Prime Minister Modi said at the conference: “This year is the 25th year of strategic partnership between India and Germany. Now, the next 25 years will take this partnership to new heights. “We have prepared a roadmap for India's development in the next 25 years.”
After his engagements in Delhi, Scholz will also visit Goa to receive two German warships, the frigate Baden-Wurttemberg and the support ship Frankfurt am Main. The project is part of Germany's deployment to the Indo-Pacific.
Scholz's third visit to India
Scholz's current visit is his third to India since taking office in 2021. Previously, he was in New Delhi in September 2023 to attend the G20 Leaders Summit.
