Vatican City, Wednesday, October 16, 2024 (REI): Pope Francis has opposed spending more on weapons instead of eliminating hunger and has advised investing in education and health care.
“War brings out the worst in humanity: selfishness, violence and dishonesty,” the Pope wrote in a post on World Food Day. Let us reject the logic of weapons and instead transform massive military spending into investments to combat hunger and lack of healthcare and education. #worldfoodday
At the end of the hearing he turned his attention to the countries affected by the war: Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Myanmar and once again urged not to forget that “war is a defeat.”
This is a strong call that Pope Francis made through His Excellency, which recalls the proposal that he has expressed on numerous occasions.
pray to the holy spirit
In his second ex post the Holy Father asks the Holy Spirit to fill us with his divine love. And those brothers and sisters who do not know what to ask for in prayer have been advised to pray to the Holy Spirit. “May the Holy Spirit always keep the fire of his divine love burning in us, which makes us his children. God’s love allows us to love Him and our neighbors so that we can have eternal life. If you don’t know what to ask for in prayer, pray to the Holy Spirit!
